My Favorite Spots In Central Oregon
As a photographer, one of our most important
jobs is to find a great location for each photoshoot. In the past year,
I have shot at many locations not only in Bend,
but in Central Oregon. It has been hard for me to pick my
favorite spot since Oregon is so naturally beautiful.
But after lots of thinking and looking back at all the photos,
I've come to a conclusion. One of my all-time favorite
locations to shoot at in Central Oregon has to be
Sparks Lake.
The photos above are only a few of the many photos I have taken at Sparks Lake. I have always been so happy with the outcome of all the photos taken at Sparks lake. The best part is that each photoshoot ends up being different.
Sparks lake has a very interesting shape to it, but each corner presents a new view.
This lake is not only great for photos, but it is also just
an amazing spot to visit for the day.
I have learned as I go that photographers have to tackle some
obstacles to get the perfect shot. For these photos, I not only had to wake up
at 4am, I also had to get into the lake at around 5:30 in the morning!
Surprisingly, the water was not nearly as cold as I was imagining.
After seeing the results, I realized the journey was worth it. I am obsessed with the lighting in these photos, and how the mountains sit perfectly in the background.
Sparks Lake never fails to impress me!
The photos above are from a senior session that was also located at Sparks lake! Once again, I will say this location never fails to impress. These were taken at
a different spot at the lake around 5pm. The scenery is so different
even though its about a three minute walk from the spot that
the other photos were taken at. The lighting is absolutely breathtaking
in these photos but in person its even better. I can only
capture so much of the lakes beauty in one photo,
so I recommend visiting this lake if you are ever in the area.
To wrap it all up, I decided to share these photos I took at sunset
over the summer. There was a little smoke from a wildfire
lingering in the air, but it worked in our favor. It gave the photos
a beautiful haze and it toned down the glare from the
sun perfectly. To conclude this blog, I hope this information
inspires others to visit or shoot at sparks, but I also hope viewers treat
the lake and wildlife around it with respect.
Oregon is a beautiful place and Sparks is one of many
amazing sites.
I have many other places to recommend in future blogs so stay tuned!
